New Mexico

"I've been absolutely terrified every moment of my life and I've never let it keep me from a single thing that I wanted to do."

Georgia O'Keeffe

Woke up today and decided to look at some photos from a recent trip to New Mexico; even after my first couple of sips of coffee, I was not particularly inspired. But as I fact-checked a short caption, I was genuinely inspired by stumbling on the above Georgia O'Keeffe quote. The painter, photographer, and desert philosopher lived that quote, inspiring all who forge their creative paths.

It wasn’t my first trip to New Mexico, but my wife and I fell in love with this place when we crossed the Colorado border. We inexplicably saw the same shooting star and woke up the following day on horseback to explore the ridgelines in this photo. That night, we rolled into Taos to find a proper watering hole and a warm place to unpack our bedrolls—that weekend, we lived the life of a high plains drifter, my favorite type of travel.
